Historical narratives

Cultural and historical links of the area of Al Redentor Agritourism.

History

Nerbon, a suburb of San Biagio di Callalta (TV), bears connections with the Romans through the Claudia Augusta Imperial Way and relevant archaeological findings. It appears to have been a stock-piling site for trading between Treviso mountain areas and “Vecchia Venezia” (Altino) which now hosts an Archaeological museum.

The Area

The agritourism is based in an area which belonged to the Cornaro Counts. The Redentor church (originally dedicated to Patron Saint Sisto Pope) was built in about 1200 A.C. by the Venetian population, to celebrate their survival after escaping inland from the plague erupting in the lagoon city.
